Das Duo wurde 2011 gegründet. Niklas Seidl (Cello / E-Bass) und Steffen Ahrens (Gitarre / E-Gitarre) konzentrieren sich mit ihrem Duo auf die Interpretation aktueller Musik.
Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei -neben einem Programm bereits etablierter Komponist*innen- die Uraufführung von Werken nicht häufig gespielter Komponist*innen der jüngeren Generation. In den letzten Jahren spielten sie neue Werke von Jagoda Szmytka, Martin Schüttler, Oxana Omelchuk, Leopold Hurt, Christopher Brandt, Michelle Lou, Karin Wetzel, Mirela Ivicevic, Lucie Vitkova, Sivan Cohen-Elias, Sam Pluta, Sebastian Claren, Bernhard Gander, Hanan Hadzijc, Mazyar Kashian und Georgia Koumará.

Ein besonderes Interesse sind Konzertprojekte, die einen künstlerisch stringenten Bogen verfolgen, sowohl inhaltlich-musikalisch, als auch durch neue Konzertformate oder visuelle Gestaltung.

Das Duo erhielt Einladungen zu verschiedenen europäischen Festivals und plant regelmäßig neue Projekte um das Repertoire für diese Besetzung zu erweitern und weiterzudenken. So entstand z.B. für das Projekt “Fuck it, let’s go to the Show!”  2018 ein von Lena Moritzen gestaltetes Bühnenbild.

Das Duo nahm für die WERGO CD „Bloody Cherries“ das Werk „f*for music“ der Komponistin Jagoda Szmytka auf und spielte bei Radioproduktionen vom Deutschlandfunk Kultur, HR und SWR.

The duo was founded in 2011. Niklas Seidl (cello / e-bass) and Steffen Ahrens (guitar / e-guitar) concentrate on playing contemporary music.
The main interest is to play new pieces by young composers, and as well the traditional new music repertoire.
In the last years the duo played premiers by Jagoda Szmytka, Martin Schüttler, Oxana Omelchuk, Leopold Hurt, Christopher Brandt, Michelle Lou, Karin Wetzel, Mirela Ivicevic, Lucie Vitkova, Sivan Cohen-Elias, Sam Pluta, Sebastian Claren, Bernhard Gander, Hanan Hadzijc, Mazyar Kashian und Georgia Koumará.

A specific interest are projects, which follow a certain artistic direction, may it be on a music basis, or which create different formats in style or visuals.

The duo was invited to several festivals in europe and plans constantly new projects to enlarge the repertory for the instrumentation and beyond. The designer Lena Moritzen for instance developed a new stage setup for their project „Fuck it, let’s go to the Show!” in 2018. leise dröhnung recorded the piece „f*for music“ by composer Jagoda Szmytka for the WERGO CD „Bloody Cherries“ and had appearences on several radio broadcasts like Deutschlandfunk Kultur, HR und SWR.
